Major "Sandy" Gunn is one of Scotland`s unsung heroes. During the Crimean War, many Scottish officers became deeply dissatisfied with the inferior spirits being rationed to them. Major Gunn, realizing that an unhappy soldier is not a good soldier, took it upon himself to petition High Command personally. "What we want - nay, what we demand, is a fine whisky that reminds us of our homeland - a whisky fit for heroes" he told them.
